This Winter, please help us care for children with serious illnesses.

We offer a lifeline to families with very sick children. And by delivering our care in the home, we can help families make the most of their time together.

Charlotte’s story

Charlotte has a rare disorder, which means she has a reduced life expectancy. Now nine years old, she was born with a condition that means she needs to be tube fed for 20 hours a day. She suffers abdominal pains and vomiting and in her short life she has endured numerous surgeries to reconstruct her bladder and bowel. This has meant long hospital admissions and separation from her siblings, which Charlotte finds upsetting.

Charlotte has therapy sessions at home, delivered by Whittington Health NHS therapists, to help her cope and understand her illness. She has nurses visit her at home and also receives speech and language therapy from the Whittington Health team.

Charlotte’s life-limiting condition has had a huge impact on the whole family. Her parents said, “despite her challenges, we want to make sure that Charlotte has the ‘normal’ experiences of a child of her age.”

Your gift will help to fund equipment, services and experiences for children like Charlotte, and their families.

Please give whatever you can afford to help ensure that children like Charlotte can continue to receive the care they need to make the most of every day.
